Now in its Fifth Year, “Brew Dogs” will be Featured in JJ’s Popular ‘Dog of the Week’ Program March 13 through May 7

Charlotte, NC  (Restaurant News Release)  Fresh off its national television debut on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, JJ’s Red Hots is getting back to something that helped make it famous in the first place:  designing great hot dogs and supporting local breweries through its ‘Brew Dog’ Series, now in its fifth year.

Each year, Charlotte’s favorite Hot Dog and Sausage joint coordinates Charlotte’s coolest business collaboration, where JJ’s aligns with local brew masters, all of whom worked with JJ’s founder and proprietor Jonathan Luther and his team to create its own signature Hot Dog crafted with something special to their respective brand. Each Brew Dog is then paired with one of the breweries’ craft beers and featured in JJ’s popular “Dog of the Week” program.

“Of course, we were humbled to be featured on the Food Network and are grateful for the national exposure, but we are Charlotte born, Charlotte based and Charlotte proud.  And some of the best craft breweries in the world are right here in the Queen City.” said Luther, “So we have a lot of fun with the Brew Dog series and we have created some incredible tasting Hot Dogs. We’ve watched it turn into a Charlotte tradition and we have a great lineup this year. I think we can all agree that nothing beats a kick ass hot dog and a cold craft beer.”

“Brew Dogs gets better every year,” said Brandy Newton, director of marketing and brand development for JJ’s. “What began as a simple plan five years ago has turned into a full-on event that calls out some very deserving breweries. And we love working with them all!”

Brew Dog Series 2017 takes place as the JJ’s brand remains on an incredible roll that began with its inception in 2012.  The brand raised national eyebrows for two years running by being honored by Fast Casual in its annual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list. JJ’s is the smallest chain to ever make the list and the only Hot Dog/Sausage concept to receive the honor. In addition, JJ’s has swept all of Charlotte’s Best Hot Dog awards in and the past five years and most recently, JJ’s was named by Tabelog as One of The 10 Most Unique Hotdog Joints in America, was cited by Spoon University as The 50 Best Foods to Eat in Charlotte Before You Die and as one of the 10 Best Hot Dog Joints Across the State by North Carolina’s Our State magazine. Yet the brand is now perhaps best known for being featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, which premiered on Food Network on February 10, 2017 and has run several times since.

About JJ’s Red Hots

JJ’s Red Hots is the premier purveyor of “hand-crafted” char-grilled hot dogs and sausages with two locations and several portable vehicles in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The restaurant concept is built on solid, hardworking values and is modeled after venerable establishments like Ted’s in Buffalo, NY, Gene and Jude’s in Chicago, and many others. Still, JJ’s is a true American original featuring house-made, scratch prepared sides and toppings served alongside time tested, revered American brands like Weber’s Mustard, Martin’s Rolls, Cheerwine and Coca-Cola. Perhaps most proudly, JJ’s Red Hots serves smokehouse hot dogs from Sahlen’s Meat Packing Company in Buffalo, NY. Sahlen’s is a 146-year-old company that remains family owned and operated, and makes, in our opinion, the best hot dogs in the world.
