Racine, WI – Lokal
The husband and wife team of Joseph and Tesa Schulte plan for a soft opening of their casual concept in late September to be located at 501 6th. Street. The name means “local” or “café” in Polish where Schulte’s family hailed. As the menu is in development it will feature foods that are locally sourced.

Atlanta, GA – Recess
The Castellucci Hospitality Group is taking a step away from their “brick and mortar” operations to open a food stall in the Krog Street Market at 99 Krog Street NE sometime in late September. Chef Victoria Shore of CHG will run the stall with a focus on light, plant-based foods such as salads, bowls and toasts.

Jersey City, NJ – Piggyback Bar
Former “Top Chef” contestant Leah Cohen will cross the Hudson River to open her second concept at 210 Hudson Street for a mid-September opening. The eatery will be casual service with an Asian tavern influence featuring menu items such as mussels with Chinese sausage and dashi and mapo chili dog.

La Jolla, CA – Ways & Means Oyster House
Fans of this Huntington Beach stalwart will rejoice when a third location opens at 1251 Prospect Street in the spring of 2018. The will continue with their full service menu for food and beverage featuring freshly shucked oysters, specials such as Maine Lobster Monday’s and branded wines and craft beers.

Minneapolis, MN – Haskell’s Wine Bar
Adult beverage purveyor since the 1930’s they will open a casual concept without the “wine snobbery” factor in late September at 901 Nicollet Mall. The menu will be simple with panini’s, salads and chili dogs at lunch moving to gourmet nachos, cheese plates and charcuterie for dinner with wine flights available.

Austin, TX – Summer Moon Coffee Bar
This family owned and operated coffee café will open their sixth Austin location at 3201 Bee Cave Road, St. #163 sometime in February or March of 2018. Devotees of the wood-fired roasted coffees will not be disappointed as they can get their favorite hot lattes, espresso milkshakes and breakfast tacos.
