Leading Coffee Shop Chain Brings the Perfect Cup to Cyprus

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario Canada  (RestaurantNewsRelease.com)  The Second Cup Coffee Company continues to build its global presence. The growing coffee-cafe franchise chain today announced that it has signed its 13th country agreement with plans to open cafes in the Republic of Cyprus with The Experience Buzz Ltd., a company owned by Mr. Nicolas Economides, Mr. Costas Michaelides, Ms. Olivia Kattami and Mrs. Constantia Economidou.

“This agreement with our Cypriot partner lends further weight to our strategy to further expand into the European Union,” said Mr. Steven Tsambalieros, president, Second Cup International. “We are confident that a bright future lies ahead for us in the Cyprus marketplace. In particular, we are pleased to be entering this market with TEB, whose principals have already demonstrated their considerable skill and professionalism in the growth of other franchise systems throughout Europe.”

Speaking on behalf of TEB, Nicolas Economides said, “We, too, are eager about this new opportunity to take on the Second Cup cafe banner in Cyprus and we look forward to launching our new cafe in Nicosia.”

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Second Cup to extend our brand internationally with strong regional partners like TEB. Customers in the Middle East and the U.S. have embraced our Second Cup Coffee cafe offerings and, building on that momentum, we recognized that the time was ideal to further embrace the European market,” stated Jim Ragas, vice president of international business development and operations of Second Cup. “Cyprus provides an excellent demographic for our brand, with a young, affluent and well-educated aspirational consumer ready to try new products and experiences.”

“Second Cup believes that having strong local owners as operators is instrumental to delivering a better guest experience. We are fortunate to have franchise partners who share our passion for the coffee business and are fully aligned with the Second Cup vision. Our franchise partners are selected on the basis of their business acumen, passion for the coffee cafe business and customer service, local relationships and entrepreneurial spirit,” added Tsambalieros.
