University of North Texas Campus Dining Selects Foodservice Training Portal to Transform Training Across the OrganizationRaleigh, NC  (Restaurant News Release)  UNT Dining, the largest self-supported food service department in North Texas has partnered with Foodservice Training Portal to provide content-related services for its foodhandlers who serve more than 5 million meals annually.

The UNT food service program is award winning and has been nationally recognized by organizations like Food Service Director Magazine, the Presidents Council for Responsible Medicine and PETA. They are also the recipient of the prestigious Loyal E. Horton Award from the National Association of College and University Food Services.  UNT Dining will be providing the Anti-Bias eStart™, Sexual Harassment eStart™, Customer eStart™, and Allergen eStart™ courses produced by Foodservice Training Portal directly to their employees through their Dining Service Intranet.

Noted Bill McNeace, Executive Director of UNT Dining, Foodservice Training Portal’s courses are “easy-to-use and effective.” This provides UNT Dining with, “an online turnkey complete training solution with updates and documentation. It is everything I need and want,” for our dining program. “I’m glad they were intuitive enough to figure out what I was looking for.”

UNT will stand as a proactive leader among campus dining programs with the integration of anti-bias training as part of its onboarding and ongoing training for staff. “Hundreds of new people come together to work with and serve each other each semester. We’re pretty good at teaching the cutting, chopping, cooking, cashiering and serving but every semester somebody’s feelings get hurt over something someone says, does or doesn’t say or do. Our work is hard enough. We don’t need unfairness and prejudice to boot. Anything that makes us better people makes us better at our jobs,” stated McNeace about the launch of Anti-Bias eStart™ for the 2018-2019 school year.
