BOOMR’Z is the first Caribbean get-away restaurant to open in Winston-Salem. Our new location is the old Wild Wing Cafe building on Hanes Mall Blvd.
Winston-Salem, NC (RestaurantNewsRelease.com) In less than a year a new style of restaurant in Winston-Salem is moving to a bigger and more appropriate location. BOOMR’Z, a laid back Caribbean style restaurant, is the one and only of it’s kind in the Winston-Salem area. Formerly located with Smokin Harley-Davidson on Myer Lee Dr.; the restaurant made quite an impression on the Kernersville and Winston-Salem area with its Five Star Menu, bright Tropical Colors, island music and of course the food. BOOMR’Z uses only fresh ingredients and makes all of their dishes even their sauces and dressings. Naturally when the old Wild Wing Café location off of Hanes Mall Blvd. became available Ben and Penny Goodloe jumped at the chance to purchase it.
Initially this new location was going to serve as a second signature location with a full menu for sit down or take out, and a full list of catering options. However as time moved on, a lack of consistent customer flow at the Myer Lee Dr. location got the Goodloe’s thinking that a complete move would be a better over all fit for the survival of the restaurant. On May 25th, the Myer Lee location closed and all of the staff’s efforts went to making the new location certifiable BOOMR’Z!
All the hard work by the staff has truly paid off as the new location has now passed fire inspections, obtained their ABC licensing and passed the health department inspection. The new décor with the familiar bright green walls, rustic hard wood floors, island themed pictures and decorations, truly help make you feel like you are at a Caribbean Getaway. Also a complete staff has been hired to make sure that all your needs are met. General Manager & Executive Chef Steffan Winbush, Bar Manager Andy Atchison, Front House Managers Amy Atkins and Emma Walgenbach, will be making sure the staff gives customers the best experience available.
The menu of course includes all your favorite island and BOOMR’Z signature dishes. Appetizers include the wildly popular Pirate Pickle Chips with a zesty dipping sauce, St. Thomas Shrimp and awesome Island Coconut Shrimp. Signature sandwiches include the Radical Reuben, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Capt. Ben’s Buffalo Chicken, The Real Havana Cuban, and Katie’s Favorite Crab Sandwich. Among the favorite signature Entrée dishes are the Monetgo Bay Ribeye, Blackbeard’s Blackened Chicken, and Tequila & Lime Rack of Pork. Newly added menu items from Sioux Chef Garrett Tallent include: Cajun Catfish, Rusty’s Stuffed Chicken, and Grilled Flank Steak. Let’s not forget our awesome farm fresh BOOMR’Z Wings in 11 different flavors!
For those who were fans of the previous locations night life, that will return to BOOMR’Z as the same stage will host the BEST of the local entertainment scene. For a short time, BOOMR’Z will be open for dinner only Monday – Sunday. A soft opening of Wednesday, June 23rd, will be followed by an official Grand Opening Night on Friday, June 25th that will include live music by local favorite, Kitty Hawk with Spirit Slave opening the night up.
