Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana McDonald’s Offer a Free Taste of McCafé at the Taste of Chicago

Local Facebook and Twitter Offerings Launched

CHICAGO  (RestaurantNewsRelease.com)  On June 25, McDonald’s Owner/Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (MOCNI) will make a much anticipated return to the Taste of Chicago. For five days, the Taste of Chicago will host the McDonald’s McCafé sampling vehicle to offer attendees a chance to cool off with a free 5 ounce sample of a refreshing McCafé Iced Mocha.

“We’re excited to be back at the Taste of Chicago this year,” said Ron Lofton, president of McDonald’s Owner/Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (MOCNI). “It is a great opportunity for us to interact with our local customers and thank them for their continued support by offering them a chance to try our cool Iced Mocha McCafé drink.”

Situated just north of Buckingham Fountain in the North Rose Garden of Grant Park the McCafé sampling vehicle will be providing samples, while they last, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. from June 25 – 29. McDonald’s street teams will also be swarming the Taste of Chicago offering coupons for McDonald’s latest Blended-Ice beverage, McCafé Frappe, which is now available in Mocha and Caramel. The coupons will be for a free small Frappe with purchase (excluding Dollar Menu) at participating local restaurants. McDonald’s newest upcoming Blended-Ice beverages, Real Fruit Smoothies, will be introduced nationally in July.

Also, debuting at the Taste of Chicago, McDonald’s Owner/Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (MOCNI) will introduce their new social media presence on Facebook (www.facebook.com) and Twitter (www.twitter.com). Consumers will be encouraged to join their local McDonald’s Facebook fan page and become a follower on Twitter via @McD_Chicago or @McD_NWIndiana to learn about upcoming events and promotions. MOCNI will be posting pictures of fans enjoying the iced mochas on their Facebook site and providing daily updates on Twitter during the event.

“We are committed to having open dialogue with our customers,” said Lofton. “Engaging in social media is a way for us to hear what our customers are saying and use that information to make their dining experience better. Choosing this event to launch this offering seemed like a very natural way to approach our customers.”
