Firehouse Subs Listens to Patrons by Creating Revised Birthday Club
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (RestaurantNewsRelease.com) Renowned for hearty, oversized portions and piping hot subs, Firehouse Subs celebrates birthdays with an enhanced program developed from loyal customer feedback. Firehouse Subs now offers a free medium sub to customers on their actual birthday with a verifying form of identification (driver’s license, birth certificate, or passport) at Firehouse Subs locations. The simplified system replaces certificates in the mail and allows all guests to celebrate with Firehouse Subs on their special day.
In an effort to maximize ease of use for customers, the environmentally friendly process eliminates excess paper, archaic databases and snail mail. Now guests only show I.D. to receive a Birthday Sub. Reaching a large number of consumers quickly, Firehouse Subs initially released the message via YouTube with a humorous video explaining the new process – .
Firehouse Subs®, founded in Jacksonville, Fla., by former firefighting brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, is a 383-unit fast-casual restaurant chain. Firehouse Subs® offers oversized portions of premium hand-sliced meats steamed to make the flavors burst, then piled high with fresh produce atop a toasted sub roll. The restaurants reflect the authentic firefighter heritage, as well as the founding family’s 200 years of firefighting service. Firehouse Subs was also named “National Chain” winner of the National Restaurant Association’s (NRA) Restaurant Neighbor Award for their overall dedication to community service. The 2010 plans for expansion include the Northeast, Central and Southwest regions of the U.S.
In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the non-profit, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, with the mission to provide funding, live-saving equipment and educational opportunities to aid first-responders. Through the non-profit 501 (c) (3), Firehouse Subs has given more than $2.2 million to hometown heroes, including fire and police departments and EMT organizations.
