CHICAGO (RestaurantNewsRelease.com) Morton’s Restaurant Group, Inc. (NYSE: MRT) today announced plans to open a new Morton’s The Steakhouse in Shanghai, China, in a joint venture structure with a local investor group.
The Company has signed a lease to open a new Morton’s steakhouse in the state-of-the-art Shanghai International Finance Center (IFC) mixed used development, strategically located in the city’s financial center, with two deluxe office towers encompassing four million square feet of world-class office space, a stylish, high end retail shopping center and a five star Ritz-Carlton hotel. Shanghai IFC is the largest commercial development in the heart of the Lujiazui finance and trade zone of Pudong, China’s financial and commercial hub. The restaurant is planned to open this year.
The joint venture will expand Morton’s growing international presence in Asia and become the sixth Morton’s steakhouse outside the United States. The Shanghai Morton’s will feature a large main dining room, multiple Morton’s exclusive private dining Boardrooms, our Bar 12-21, Morton’s bar dining concept, and an outdoor terrace dining area. Morton’s Restaurant Group, Inc. will control all of the restaurant’s operations.
