ROME, GA (Restaurant News Release) Steak ‘n Shake celebrates the Grand Opening of its first restaurant in Rome, Ga., at 838 Turner McCall Blvd. The official ribbon cutting ceremony takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at 10 a.m., to be hosted by franchisee Wayne Robinson and Chairman and CEO of Steak ‘n Shake Sardar Biglari. The mayor of Rome, Ga., Wright Bagby, and several local dignitaries are also slated to attend.
Mr. Biglari commented, “The new, updated, and relevant restaurant prototype engages guests a number of ways through welcome changes such as a more integrated and highly visible open grill and milk shake fountain, features which date back to the nostalgia-generating Steak ‘n Shake tagline, ‘In Sight It Must Be Right.’” Biglari added, “All upgrades were installed with the intention of enhancing the guests’ experience and are consistent with the high repute of the time-honored brand. Guests will love the aesthetics, and prospective franchisees will follow because they will appreciate the terrific unit economics in addition to the aesthetics.”
Providing advantages for new franchisees, the 3,200 square foot prototype costs $1.5 million to build, down from the $2.2 million investment for the prior model. Yet the new restaurants will provide the same amount of seating.
Mr. Biglari added, “Now is an exciting time to open in Rome. In addition to showcasing our new prototype restaurant, we offer a wonderful variety of new items on our menu which we are confident our customers will enjoy, from the new Grilled Portobello ‘n Swiss STEAKBURGER™ to our recently created Butter Pecan hand-dipped Milk Shakes.”
Steak ‘n Shake guests can also enjoy a number of daily deals beginning with the Half Price Happy Hour on all milk shakes and drinks served weekdays from 2 – 4 p.m. and 2 – 4 a.m., and the 4 meals under $4 menu.
