Cold Stone Creamery (Restaurant News Release):
EVENT:
Cold Stone Creamery hosts “World’s Largest Ice Cream Social”
Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, marks Cold Stone Creamery’s® ninth-annual “World’s Largest Ice Cream Social,” a nationwide fundraising event to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All Cold Stone Creamery locations throughout the United States, Guam and Puerto Rico are inviting ice cream lovers to experience the joy of supporting a worthy cause while enjoying Cold Stone’s super-premium ice cream.
From 5-8 p.m. on Sept. 30, Cold Stone Creamery will give away a FREE 3-ounce serving of the featured Creation™, Kate’s Creation, while encouraging guests to make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Kate, 11, is the Junior Tastemaster behind this year’s Make-A-Wish® Creation. She asked the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant her wish to design the flavor that ice cream lovers around the nation would savor during the “World’s Largest Ice Cream Social.” Cold Stone Creamery welcomed Kate to its Arizona headquarters, where she learned the sweet science of creating ice cream flavors with Tastemaster Ray Karam. She spent a day in the lab, got her own business cards and helped develop marketing plans for her Creation: caramel apple ice cream mixed with graham cracker pie crust, chocolate shavings and apple pie filling.
As an ice cream connoisseur, Kate’s one true wish was to create the exclusive flavor for the “World’s Largest Ice Cream Social.” By attending the event and trying Kate’s Creation, guests will help Kate’s wish come true and contribute to granting the wishes of other seriously ill children.
Donations that night and all month long will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
