Dallas / Fort Worth, TX (Restaurant News Release) Blue Mint Thai & Asian Cuisine®, the veteran led, award winning Thai and Asian restaurant brand based in North Texas, is receiving a series of significant military, civic and leadership recognitions highlighting the company’s commitment to service members, veterans and community leadership.
The recognitions include multiple Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve awards, a formal Texas House Resolution from State Representative Brian Harrison, an invitation to the Texas Capitol in January, an invitation to meet with Congressman and fellow veteran Jake Ellzey in Washington, D.C., and the selection of Blue Mint Thai CEO Mike Wilson as a featured speaker and panelist at the Midlothian Governor’s Small Business Summit on November 5.
“These recognitions are meaningful because they represent who we are as an organization,” said Mike Wilson, CEO and Owner of Blue Mint Thai. “Military service, servant leadership and taking care of people are part of our foundation. We are incredibly grateful to see our team recognized at the state and national level.”
Major Department of Defense Recognition
Blue Mint Thai was recently honored by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for its commitment to supporting members of the National Guard and Reserve.
The company received the Pro Patria Award, ESGR’s highest state level honor, as well as the Above and Beyond Award and Patriot Award. Blue Mint Thai was also recognized nationally as one of the Top Finalists for the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, ESGR’s premier national recognition for employers supporting Guard and Reserve service members.
“To be recognized among the leading employers in the country for supporting military members is something we are extremely proud of,” Wilson said. “We understand firsthand the sacrifices made by service members and their families.”
Texas House Resolution and Capitol Invitation
Blue Mint Thai’s military support was also formally recognized through a Texas House Resolution presented by State Representative Brian Harrison of District 10.
The resolution recognized Wilson, a retired United States Air Force Major and former Security Forces Commander, and Alisa Dodenhoff, Blue Mint Thai’s Vice President of Business Operations and a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserve.
Blue Mint Thai leadership has also been invited to the Texas Capitol in January for additional recognition and engagement with state leaders.
Invitation to Washington, D.C.
Blue Mint Thai has also been invited to Washington, D.C. to meet with Congressman and fellow veteran Jake Ellzey.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss veteran entrepreneurship, small business growth, military employment and the role veteran led businesses can play in creating jobs and strengthening communities.
Governor’s Small Business Summit
Wilson has also been selected as a featured speaker and panelist at the Midlothian Governor’s Small Business Summit on November 5.
Representing Blue Mint Thai and Velocity Investing Group, Wilson will share lessons on entrepreneurship, leadership, resilience and business growth with small business owners and community leaders from across Texas.
