“Ties for Pies” Father’s Day Promotion Celebrates Dads, Helps Deserving Veterans
CARLSBAD, CA (RestaurantNewsRelease.com) Coco’s Bakery Restaurants and Carrows Restaurants, both part of the Catalina Restaurant Group, are celebrating dads and supporting a great cause with their new “Ties for Pies” Father’s Day Celebration. From June 7 through June 30, dads can bring a gently used tie into any participating Coco’s or Carrows restaurant to trade for a coupon good for one slice of fresh-baked pie.*
Continuing Coco’s and Carrows efforts toward corporate social responsibility, the ties will be donated to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV). These much-needed donations will assist homeless and struggling veterans get back into the job market by helping them be interview-ready with a fresh new look. The ties will be distributed to local NCHV community-based outreach programs throughout California, Colorado, Arizona and Nevada.
Every year, it is estimated that 196,000 veterans sleep under bridges, in alleys and in abandoned buildings because they have no home. Although only 11% of the U.S. population has served in the armed forces, roughly 26% of homeless adults in this country are veterans.
“We are proud to celebrate deserving dads — and their families — with free pie and, most importantly, to give back to those who have proudly served our country,” says Kazumasa Ogawa, president of Coco’s and Carrows.
Homemade goodness from Coco’s and Carrows has become a time-honored tradition for thousands of families and their loved ones. The restaurants’ fresh-baked pies, in particular, have become synonymous with family celebrations. Signature favorites include Chocolate Cream, Fresh Strawberry and Lemon Meringue pies, to name a few.
