Beloved acai and smoothie concept unveils limited-time menu featuring giveaways, rewards exclusives and hometown Block Party
Washington, DC (Restaurant News Release) Fifteen years after opening its first location in Arlington, VA, South Block, the better-for-you brand known for its handcrafted acai bowls, smoothies and cold-pressed juices, is marking a major milestone with a new limited-time Birthday Cake Smoothie and a month-long celebration built around the community that helped shape the brand from the beginning.
Available starting July 1st, the Birthday Cake Smoothie brings a playful take on a classic treat to the brand’s made-from-scratch menu lineup. The smoothie features almond milk, banana, plant protein, vanilla, granola, maple syrup, blue Cocowhip and sprinkles, creating a birthday-inspired treat designed to commemorate the anniversary celebration.
Since opening in 2011, South Block has grown from a neighborhood smoothie shop into a regional brand with locations throughout Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and North Carolina. While the company continues to evolve its menu and introduce new offerings, the anniversary campaign also reflects its long-standing focus on making people feel awesome one block at a time.
“Fifteen years gives you perspective,” said Amir Mostafavi, founder and CEO of South Block. “You realize people don’t just remember what they ordered. They remember where they stopped after workouts, who they met up with after class and the routines they built around our blocks. This celebration is about creating those moments all over again while continuing to find new ways to surprise our community.”
Throughout July, guests can take part in a series of promotions and specialty experiences. South Block Rewards members will receive exclusive surprises and offers during the month, including Triple Stars Tuesdays beginning July 7.
Guests can also look for limited-edition silicone bracelet drops every Thursday beginning July 9 with the purchase of a Birthday Cake Smoothie (while supplies last). Additional giveaways and activations will roll out across the brand’s social channels and select locations.
The celebration reaches its peak on Saturday, July 18, with a birthday Block Party at its original Clarendon location from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests can enjoy music from a live DJ, giveaways and complimentary Birthday Cake Smoothies for the first 50 guests.
Looking ahead, the company plans to continue building on the idea that first inspired its name and mission: creating experiences that make people feel awesome, one block at a time. For more information, visit SouthBlock.com.
