Iconic Detroit-style pizza brand founded in Austin, marks milestone with $10 Detroiters and all-day happy hour
Austin, TX (Restaurant News Release) The City of Austin has officially designated March 13 as Via 313 Pizzeria Day to recognize its ties to the city where the concept first took shape. What began as a trailer serving Motor City–style pies has since grown into a national brand with more than 26 locations nationwide.
To celebrate the newly designated 313 Day, the brand will offer $10 Detroiters – its signature double-pepperoni Detroit-style pizza – and $10 classic cheese Detroit-style pizzas, along with all-day happy hour across all Texas and Colorado locations.
The one-day celebration invites guests to mark the occasion by indulging in the brand’s signature pizza style that helped build its reputation in Austin and beyond.
Founded in 2011 by Detroit natives Brandon and Zane Hunt, Via 313 quickly gained a following for its square, cheesy-edged pizzas before expanding into brick-and-mortar restaurants.
“For Detroiters, 313 isn’t just an area code – it’s an identity,” said Kiplan Welsch, president of Via 313. “Brandon and Zane carried that pride with them when they started slinging pizzas out of a trailer in Austin, and to see this city now claim March 13 as its own feels like the ultimate full-circle moment. The recognition arrives as Via 313 continues its growth trajectory. Today, the brand operates 26 locations, including one food truck and two permanently placed trailers across Texas, Colorado and Utah, with additional expansion on the horizon.
