New location celebrates with Ribbon Cutting on September 15 and Grand Opening Festival featuring Rib Eating Contest on September 26
Gun Barrel City, TX (Restaurant News Release) Soulman’s Bar-B-Que, the family-owned Texas barbecue institution that has been serving legendary slow-smoked barbecue since 1974, expanded its East Texas footprint with the opening of its newest restaurant at 938 W. Main Street, Gun Barrel City, TX 75156 on August 3, 2026. The community is invited to celebrate with two special events: an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, September 15, followed by a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, September 26, featuring family-friendly activities, giveaways and Soulman’s signature Rib Eating Contest.
The Ribbon Cutting on September 15 coordinated by the Cedar Creek Lake Chamber of Commerce will welcome local business leaders, elected officials and community members as Soulman’s marks opening its doors to the Gun Barrel City community.
The festivities continue on Saturday, September 26, when guests can enjoy a full afternoon of celebration featuring prizes, giveaways, exclusive food specials and the always-popular Rib Eating Contest, where local competitors will battle for barbecue bragging rights.
