The beloved Cowboy Cookie returns June 1 as part of the brand’s anniversary celebration benefiting Nourish California
Los Angeles, CA (Restaurant News Release) Twenty years ago, Tender Greens opened its doors with a simple idea: serve honest food made with care and sourced from farmers and producers who share that commitment. Since then, the restaurant has grown from a single neighborhood kitchen into a California brand known for chef-driven meals, seasonal ingredients and responsibly sourced food aimed at improving the way people eat every day. To celebrate the milestone, Tender Greens is bringing back the fan-favorite Cowboy Cookie, offering a month of exclusive rewards for app users and supporting food access initiatives across the state.
Beginning June 1, the Cowboy Cookie returns for a limited time. Originally a fixture in the restaurant’s pastry case, it’s packed with chocolate, coconut, oats and pecans. Throughout June, Tender Greens will donate 100% of profits from every Cowboy Cookie sold to Nourish California, a nonprofit working to expand food access across the state.
“Two decades later, we’re still grounded in the idea that great food creates connection,” said Oliver Plust, executive head chef at Tender Greens. “The Cowboy Cookie has been part of Tender Greens since the beginning, so bringing it back for the anniversary felt especially meaningful. Partnering with Nourish California also gave us an opportunity to celebrate 20 years while supporting food access efforts across California.”
In addition to the cookie’s return, guests can participate in two ways to support Nourish California throughout June:
- Treat Yourself: Add a Cowboy Cookie to any next Tender Greens order
- Donate Directly: Guests ordering online can skip dessert and instead add a direct donation of $1, $5, $10 or $15 at checkout
Tender Greens will also roll out exclusive anniversary rewards for Tender Greens App users throughout the month of June:
- Week 1: 10% off any order
- Week 2: Free drink with any $15 purchase
- Week 3: Free dessert with any $15 purchase, including the Cowboy Cookie
- Week 4: Double points on all purchases
