The Hot Dog King of the Queen City Pays Tribute, Says Goodbye to the Charlotte Celebrity with a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Masterpiece
Charlotte, NC (Restaurant News Release) She’s been Paid to Party by the Charlotte Observer, been the sports Flash Girl on WFNZ, co-hosted the morning show on Kiss 95.1, done segments on ESPNU, been published in Cosmopolitan and MAXIM magazine, was a Carolina Panthers TopCat cheerleader and works with multiple charity organizations. But with her latest honor, creating a JJ’s Red Hots Dog of the Week which will carry her name, Brittney Cason has topped herself.
The Brittney Cason Breakfast Dog was the brainchild of the celebrity herself and was created during a recent visit to JJ’s Red Hots in Dilworth, where she had access to JJ’s kitchen, home to Sahlen’s Smokehouse Hot Dogs and Martin’s Potato Rolls, both premium products, as well as any of JJ’s fresh toppings and house-made sauces.
In the end, she kept it relatively simple but incredibly tasty with house-cooked bacon, fresh scrambled eggs and grated cheddar cheese. She topped it with her personal favorite: ketchup. The Brittney Cason Breakfast Dog will be featured at both JJ’s locations in Charlotte, Ballantyne and Dilworth, beginning today through May 3, Cason’s last day in the Queen City. As the Dog of the Week, her Breakfast Dog is priced at $3.99.
“I imagine it’s every girl’s dream to have a hot dog named after her, especially one of JJ’s caliber which puts all other hot dogs to shame,” said Cason, almost teary about the recognition, given that she will soon be moving west for an undisclosed opportunity. “Even when JJ’s heard I was leaving, they still rolled out the red carpet for me, like I was a rock star or something. But more importantly that’s how they treat all of their guests. I will miss this town so much and JJ’s Red Hots is one reason why. They made this goodbye super special.”
Brittney will make appearances at both locations to watch her hot dogs devoured and say so long to friends and fans. She will visit the Ballantyne location at 1 pm on April 28 and in Dilworth on April 30 at noon.
