Kansas City, MO (Restaurant News Release) Third Street Social, a prominent culinary hotspot in Kansas City, is delighted to announce the success of its recent charity collaboration with Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Together, they raised an impressive $3,649.00 during the holiday season, with $1 from each Cranberry Sparkler sold going directly to Happy Bottoms, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing diapers to families in need. Tito’s also matched the restaurant’s donation, doubling the impact of their fundraising efforts.
Encouraged by this success and their commitment to families in Kansas City, Third Street Social is excited to announce their upcoming event, “Derby for Diapers,” benefiting the charity. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 4th, from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm at Third Street Social’s South Plaza location.
“Derby for Diapers” promises to be an afternoon of fun, fashion, and philanthropy. Guests are encouraged to dress in their Derby best and indulge in Maker’s Mark cocktails, including the iconic Mint Julep, while enjoying a selection of derby-inspired heavy appetizers. Tickets for the event are priced at $80 per person and include heavy appetizers along with two drink tickets. Attendees can also earn additional drink tickets by bringing in a package of diapers (limit two per person).
This inaugural event will take place in Third Street Social’s private event space, providing an intimate setting for guests to come together and support a worthy cause. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit Happy Bottoms and their mission to provide essential diaper assistance to families in the metropolitan area.

Happy Bottoms is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing diapers to families in need. With diapers costing over $100 per child per month and programs like food stamps, Medicaid, and WIC not covering diapers, many low-income families struggle to afford this basic necessity. Happy Bottoms aims to bridge this gap by providing diaper assistance to families living in the urban core who often pay a premium for diapers at corner stores or local markets. According to the US Census 2020, an estimated 21,000 metropolitan area children require diaper assistance.
