National children’s ministry video series filmed at Soulman’s combines barbecue, biblical learning and community values
Dallas, TX (Restaurant News Release) For over five decades, Soulman’s Bar-B-Que has believed great barbecue brings people together. Now, the North Texas staple has partnered with one of the nation’s leading Christian publishers to help bring important life lessons to children across the country.
Soulman’s recently welcomed the production team from Lifeway Christian Resources to film an episode of its Explore the Bible on Location children’s ministry video series inside a Soulman’s restaurant in Red Oak, Texas. The educational series is designed for churches and Sunday School programs, helping children connect biblical principles with everyday experiences through engaging, real-world settings.
During the episode, Soulman’s CEO Brett Randle joined host Joel Mylin to explore lessons about leadership, following instructions, learning from experienced mentors and working together as a team – all through the lens of preparing great barbecue and serving guests.
“Our restaurants have always been about more than food – they’re places where people learn, grow and build relationships,” said Brett Randle, CEO of Soulman’s Bar-B-Que. “We were honored to partner with Lifeway to help create something that teaches children positive values while showing how teamwork, leadership and service play out in everyday life.”
The video is now available to churches nationwide as part of Lifeway’s Explore the Bible on Location curriculum for children. The partnership reflects Soulman’s ongoing commitment to supporting organizations that strengthen families, invest in young people and serve local communities. Throughout its history, Soulman’s has partnered with schools, nonprofits, churches and community organizations across North Texas, believing restaurants can play an important role beyond serving meals.
“We’re grateful for opportunities like this that allow us to give back in meaningful ways,” Randle said. “If a child learns an important lesson about leadership, responsibility or serving others while watching this video, we’re proud to have been part of that experience.”
For Lifeway, filming inside an authentic North Texas restaurant helped illustrate biblical principles in a setting children can easily recognize and relate to, making lessons both memorable and practical.
